This is our Story...
LOL
"I was still married but separated from my husband of 19 yrs. I met this great guy through his sister who I worked with . We met on Christmas eve at Paul\\’s sister\\’s house . I thought he was intersted in someone else at the time . We hit it off, laughed for hours . After a few days I told Rose that if Paul is intersted give him my number . Rose said he was excited too. We exchanged numbers and were to meeet up for New Years but Paul got sent out of ton for work . We didn\\’t talk until late January , thern we would talk for hours on the phone every evening . We fell for each other over the phone . Never saw each other until March that year and he never left . rnLong story short I was still married when he proposed to me . He picked me up from work for lunch and threw a box into my lap and said \\\"These are yours\\\" . little did I know he had already asked my Dad if he could marry me . rnPaul had shown everyone at work when he had come to pick me up so they were all waiting when we got back . He didn\\’t even know my ring size. LOL rnThe wedding WELL I could write a novel . Our life is one big journey . rn "

"I am writing our story and its not so much an engagement or wedding story but its ours. My husband and I have been divorced for approximately 13 years now, we have three children of the marriage and one daughter outside the marriage. We have lived our own lives and experienced many things that we may not have if we had been married. We feel horrible about what we did to our children throughout all of this but, have become the people we are today. We married at the ages of 21 and 27 with a child on the way and had no idea what marriage or life was about. Since our divorce in 2000, each one of us has accomplished personal goals that makes us the confident people we are today. Phil is now an instructor at NAIT and teaches millwrights and machinists and I was a golf course manager in a small town out side of Grande Prairie. rnI came to Edmonton for a weekend to visit my children before the golf course opened, as my summers were very busy and I didn\’t get very much time away. Our youngest daughter said \"why don\’t you stay at the house, I\’m sure Dad won\’t mind\" so I did. Phil had just came back from Mexico and we happened to indulge in a bottle of tequila that he had brought back. Of course the kids who are now in their 20\’s are thinking we we are just crazy and having a good time, they were are appalled that a few months later to find out their parents are having an affair. Phil visited me every other weekend in Grande Prairie as I worked and we had a wonderful time finding out who we really were. I\’m not going to lie to you but the Adele 21 CD sealed it all, One and Only was it! Phil is my \"One and Only\" and we had a wonderful time the summer of 2011. rnI moved to Edmonton late that summer and started a life here. Our children were shocked and really in disbelief as we were divorced and didn\’t have faith in relationships. Since my move, I can\’t even believe that Phil and I have ever been apart. Our relationship is everything the both of us have ever dreamed a relationship is supposed to be. My career goals have changed since we have decided that we like winters in the warmth instead of snow! I have returned to school as a Materials engineer technologist and holy crap it\’s hard! My goal is to buy a motor coach to drive to Arizona for the winters as its not far away for our retirement. So now, Phil is supporting me as I work towards a great career to support our retirement; too funny because he now says I\’m smarter than him. rnWe may not be getting married anytime soon but, I want our children to know that we are committed to our relationship and the struggles it takes to get to where we want to be. Phil and I need to make up for the time we were not together, and we really were the people we were meant to be with but didn\’t know it. Today, life is so good! I want for Phil to give me a wonderful promise ring for Christmas morning with our children and showing them that anything is possible and true love really exists. I couldn\’t ask for anything more in my life at this moment...well maybe to pass my physics course lol. We are so excited about our future and we don\’t even need to fight about whose hose the kids are going to for Christmas! We are now going to our son\’s new built home together and so proud! So really, I had a great time telling you our story. If we don\’t win that\’s ok, I had fun and I am so proud of my man, children and me. "

"So a lot of people have been asking how Quinton popped the question… To avoid retelling the same story over and over lol I figured I would try to get it down in writing. This may be a little hard, being that when it happened I was so overwhelmed with emotion it felt like a blur.lol! Big smiles :D So for Family Day Long weekend we went on a snowboarding trip with Bryce and Dan. The first snowboarding adventure was at Sunshine. We had an amazing day with the boys hitting the slopes, and enjoying the resort. Near the end of our day on the slopes I really had to go to the bathroom. Quinton told the boys that we would meet up with them at the bottom of the run, so I could go to the bathroom, and so they wouldn’t have to miss ride time. So I did my thing then Quinton and I went up to do a run together. On the chair lift I remember Quinton joking around with me saying “I love you baby, I could spend the rest of my life with you.” I think that’s what he said? Lol I had my ipod playing tunes. Jokingly I pointed to my left glove, where my ring figure is. Picture that beyonce song “If you like it, you better put a ring on it”… hahahha. Anyways, we ended up going up the chair lift and getting off at the top. At the top of the lift he said to me “Stay close to me” or something like that? (once again Ipod still going..)Taking it as a challenge, and wanting to show off my new snowboard moves the boys taught me, I began racing him down the hill. Quinton was basically chasing me down the hill… I had no idea what was in store. At one point Quinton went up a little hill and looked like he wanted me to go up there too. I was not in the mood to do jumps so I being my sassy self kept heading down the mountain. Quinton again (2nd attempt. Lol) went up another little hill, and this time signalled for me to come up. Kinda annoyed that he was so set on doing jumps, I was sceptical to go up, but his beaming face lured me in. I also thought maybe he didn’t want to do some jumps, and maybe he just wanted to take a great photo shot. I was determined that was it, and felt bad for being so sassy. I made my way up to where he was. When I got up to him, I could see he was talking but couldn’t hear him good, at this point I assumed he wanted me to take out my camera. He took his foot out of his binding. I was so confused. “Why is he taking his foot out of his binding?” I turned off my ipod and began focusing on his words. Still so confused at this point… lol. Then… he said “ I love you baby, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you…” Still not understanding, he pulled a box out of his jacket pocket then it CLICKED!!! OMG!! He opened the box. INSTANT TEARS! Lol!! And I was shaking so much, I thought I was gonna break. “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” He asked. I was crying so much and saying “OMG OMG so much, and are you serious? are you serious? lol I wanted to speak but was so shocked. finally I said “YES!” It was amazing! I can’t explain the emotions we had. It was just an amazing feeling. After the random skiers snapped a photos, and an onlooker gave their congrats, I began asking him how he kept this secret from me. It was pretty funny hearing all the stories of the backstage stuff that helped make the surprise so magical. Well guys, that’s the jyst of it. Thank you for all your well wishes, and looking fwd. to what the future holds!! Most of all, Thank you Quinton for proving to me that true love does exist, and for making me one happy girl! "
